so i was inspired by my pal kim's blog. she posted about some cinnamon syrup that she got at starbucks! it reminded me of the bottle that i had in my pantry that i picked up from them around christmas time. although mine isn't sugar free. so i've been using it in a few things that i've made recently and thought i would share one of them with you! this is a super easy smoothie that my kids love to make! it can be changed so many ways! it's yummy, fun, and the best part----healthy!
i take bananas that have started to turn a bit ripe. cut them into bite size pieces and put each banana in it's own small baggie (this makes it easier for single servings). then toss these into the freezer for use at a later time. put one baggie of frozen bananas in the blender, pour enough milk to just cover the bananas, in this case i used light vanilla soy milk. then blend on high. it comes out nice and thick and cold. in mine i also added a bit of the cinnamon syrup and a Tbs. of peanut butter. you can add other frozen fruit, vanilla or other extracts. just had whatever would taste yummy to you! ENJOY!
hopefully tomorrow i can post my french toast made with the same cinnamon syrup! YUMMOLICIOUS! MY KIDS LOVE THEM!
