Sorry I went M.I.A. for a bit. I had different plans for last week then what actually happened. Of course that is how life goes sometimes and then we have to just adjust and move along.
Kels was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday and was there until Sunday night. It was a long week and we were able to get a few problems resolved. We are now waiting for results to some other tests that were being sent out of state. For many weeks now she has been dealing with a constant headache and migraines almost on a daily basis. They figured out that the headache is a separate problem from the migraines. As of now the migraines are under control and she had a spinal tap done to find out the source of the other headache. So she is doing much better and just very sore from the 3 spinal taps! She is very anxious to get back to her normal life with school, dancing, and socializing! Just hoping the teen attitude stays gone! :) So this is what has kept me busy.
I'm so excited to share with you several projects that have been done by myself and my design team! Rather then bombard you with all the photos at once I've decided to put them in different posts. This will also give me some time to get the Etsy shop filled up with the goodies to purchase if you want to make some of the projects.
This first project I'm going to share was created by Jenny Morgan.
Now the plan was to have this up long before now. I decided to still show it as the idea behind the project is such a cute one and could be adapted with several of the wood shapes I have. In this project Jenny was given the large and small bat to work with.
This project was made from a wooden edged sign and turned into a fun tray! She added paint and paper to make it work for Halloween. Jenny also found the cute little votives already decorated at Michaels for just a few dollars. I love how painted the bat and then added some handwriting to it. Now I know we don't all love our handwriting, but this could also be done using rub-ons as well.
The other bat was just painted and then glittered! This is a fun and simple way to add a great sparkle to the wood pieces. One of may favorite glitters is the Martha Stewart line. I also like to spray them with a matte clear coat when I'm finished. This helps keep the glitter on the piece and not everywhere else! With Halloween being just a few days away the bats won't be added to the shop, but if you are interested in them let me know. I have some already finished and wouldn't mind sending them your way. Thanks Jenny for such a fun project!
I also wanted to share one more thing with you. Have you ever stopped over at Frost It Pink? It is a fun store that has a ton of goodies stocked in it. If you scrapbook or do any type of paper arts stop by and check them out. They also have some fun project kits for sale.
This is a beautiful shabby project that Melissa Phillips put together using one of my wooden crowns. I love the soft colors that she used to make this. The kit includes everything to make the wonderful crown and card as well. You can get more information on the kit here.
Check back later as I will be showing you the finished project from the sneak peeks that I shared with you last week. I will also be posting tomorrow and Friday more DT projects and will have the Etsy store stocked up by the end of the week for you.
