White Wednesday

  Well I guess I’m cutting a bit close.  In fact the photos I’m going to share with you are some that I’ve had for awhile now.  I love vintage and old things.   One of my favorites are the old watch faces.

 

   

Not sure what it is about these, but they just make me smile!  I’m loving numbers right now to and these have some fun ones on them.

                   

 

White and cream lace is another thing I can’t get enough of.  I’m sure my hubby would disagree with that one.  I’m sure he would say I have enough to supply our whole neighborhood and then some.  It just comes in handy for so many projects!

 

 

Another favorite right now is anything with a hint of tarnished silver.  It goes with anything.  I love how these forks blend so well with the vintage book. 

Today I kept busy on the coffee table project for a bit.  The construction part of it is almost done then I will need to decide a color for it.  I’m actually thinking of a pretty cream or white.  I came inside to cool down for a bit and worked on a few new projects.  I’ve been in the mood to paint some signs.  I needed one for my space and then got carried away and have several others that are in the works as well.  Hopefully I will have some new stuff to share tomorrow.  Hoping to take some new stuff down to the shop tomorrow if not Friday afternoon.

Off to paint for a bit and then hit the sack.

 I can't believe that it's already Wednesday again!  I know I said it last time, but the days are flying by!  Next Wed school starts.  We still have a lot to get done for the girls before then.  I'm taking a break right now though and wanted to share some photos with you.

I've been working on a few different things around here.  This project above I started yesterday.  I was able to put part of it together and painted.  Today I am just finishing it up.  Do you know what it is?  Well I will be sharing it with you soon!  It's part of my surprise.

This is something else I worked on last night while Kels and I watched Hells Kitchen or as we call it around here "HK"

 

These little cuties I worked on last week.  They are almost finished.  Just one small thing to add.  Part of my break included catching up on a few blog posts.  I love this part of the day as it always fills me with inspiration!  There are so many talented people out there!  I love to see what they come up with and I am constantly inspired by all of you.  One blog that I have been following for sometime now is Simply Me Art.  Jamie is so talented in so many things, but if you aren't familiar with her you need to check out her jewelry!  Anyways Jamie shared this wonderful link (edited out for now) to get your photos to have this fun aged look.  So of course I had to give it a whirl!  Thanks Jamie I love it!

White Wednesday

So it's Wednesday again and I'm not sure where this past week went!  It just seems to go by faster each week.  The summer vacation is almost over for my kiddos.  We have 2 weeks left before school starts!

This week I thought I would share with you some of my favorites around my house that fall into the white category!

This is a pretty good size can I picked up about a year ago.  Of course I can't remember where I got it.  I love the label on it and the wear and tear of it.  I need to put it to good use here and change things up a bit.

This is something that I love looking at every time I walk by it.  I made this for a class I taught last year.  It was so much fun to make.  I was able to play with paint, stamps, stitching, and of course my love of wood and vintage findings.This is another one of my faves.  Again another find on one of my shopping sprees.  I love the texture the rust adds to this.  Lately I have also loved things with numbers!

Right now the scale has a home on my favorite chair! I can still remember when my hubby saw this when I brought it home.  He was probably thinking I was a tad crazy to leave the finish as is.  I love it though with all the different colors peaking thru it!  Plus he's gotten use to me bringing stuff home now and never knows if it will stay the same or change!

Thinking back I don't remember where I found this little gem either.  I love the white and the rust colors on it and all the texture it has.  I makes for a great place for little displays, but oh is it heavy!

 
Remember when I said I had a love for numbers lately?  Well I decided to cut out a few wood ones.  I love how they turned out with the white paint and slightly distressed.  They are fun to add a bit of whimsy anywhere in the house.  My youngest keeps rearranging them and playing with them.

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the kind words about Kels. She is doing wonderful right now! She's just anxious to get back to school and hang with her friends!

On another fun note I will be sharing a fun surprise probably next week.  It's been in the works for a bit and has been put off because of many things.  I'm so excited though because it's getting closer and I'm on the edge of my seat with excitement today.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Wed no matter what color it is!   
   

White Wednesday

A few weeks ago I was skipping around blog land and found this charming blog Faded Charm.  On Wednesdays she hosts what she calls White Wednesday.  I had a lot of fun linking to several blogs and found a lot of creative projects and photos around the theme of white.  I had thought about combining the White Wed with the Wordless Wed, but didn't get to it. 

Today I decided I needed to get back to my blog for 2 reasons.  One I've missed my camera and have not used it a whole lot lately.  So I was itching to use it and capture some white inspired photos.  The 2nd reason is that I really needed to take up a bit of space here to say THANK YOU!  I've debated back and forth for a week now about this post and have felt like I needed to go ahead with it.

Some of you may know that my oldest daughter was diagnosed with diabetes almost 2 years ago.  She has her good days and her bad days.  Some are harder then others.  I thought things were good and under control for the most part until over a week ago.  She hadn't been feeling well and woke up very early on a Friday morning breathing kind of funny.  She does have asthma, but it didn't sound like wheezing.  I had thought it would go away.  As the morning progressed I found it only getting worse.  I was not sure what it was at all, but I was getting to the point where I was nervous so I decided it was time to make a trip to the ER.  I ended up taking her to a close one instead of the one we normally go to.  When we got there they quickly rushed out with a wheelchair for her.  As soon as she sat down she passed out.  After getting her checked in I was taken back to the room she was in and there were at least 10-12 people in that room working on her.  At this point I still didn't know what was causing this and thought maybe they weren't very busy there.  Well I found out I was very wrong!  It ended up that Kelsey's blood sugar had been too high and caused the ketones to build up in her body.  She ended up going into what they call DKA.  The PH balance in your body gets out of balance and can be very dangerous.  Long story short she was transferred to a different hospital by ambulance and admitted to the PICU there.  We were told by the doctors that we were lucky that she had made it.  For the first 24 hrs. she had to have a "sitter" with her at all times.  I had planned on going home that night to get some rest.  Right before I was getting ready to leave Kels took a turn for the worst.  Honestly it scared me so bad I didn't know what to do.  I ended up staying in the hospital with her until she was released.  She ended up being there for almost 5 days.  It was a hard road back, but she is doing so much better and we feel so blessed and grateful that she is still with us.

A few people had found out and I ended up posting updates here and there on Face-book.  I was so overwhelmed and thankful for the response that I received!  I honestly believe in the power of prayer!  From the moment that she wasn't feeling good prayers were being said for her.  All these prayers and thoughts brought so much comfort to me when I needed them!  For the first 2 days Kels wasn't coherent at all so I was there by myself.  My parents were out of town and checked in often.  My dear hubby was helping with my youngest while he was juggling his job.  Thank goodness for wonderful friends and neighbors!  They were so good to us!  During those times in the hospital I would read the comments and emails from my phone.  They all meant so much to me and my family.  I can't ever say thank you enough!

Kels is doing so much better and feeling better emotional and physically!  We are so grateful for her in our lives and the joy that she brings to our family!

So I don't want to end White Wed with just this so I wanted to share a few photos of some things that I've been working on in between things.  Yep they are done in whites and creams.  For the past month or so I have fallen in love with this white on white color scheme!

 These are some fun flowers that I crocheted.  I had some yarn with me in the hospital and in between the nurses, dr's, phone calls and such I was able to get a few of these cuties done.  I even have several of them packaged and ready for sale.  I love the colors of them.  Oh I also did some in pink!

 
This is another project I'm working on in whites and creams and lots of texture! I love it up against my rusty scale!

Here is another peek at it on my vintage metal chair.  I will have to photograph this for another Wed it's one of my favorite things!

This is one of my recent faves that I finished up.  Awhile ago I started cutting these mini chunky houses from some of my scraps I had.  I finally got around to getting some them all decked out.  I have a whole village of them!  They will be for sale soon I promise!  They will be offered finished and unfinished so you can do your own if you want.  Also I have some ideas for you from my DT with them.  Oh wait until you see them they are sooooo cute!
